Thamirabarani Arivuthirukoil (Thamirabarani SKY Trust) is a yogic centre, which is situated at Tirunelveli. Tirunelveli is the southernmost part of India, very nearer to Kanniyakumari.
Tirunelveli is a city in Tamil Nadu state of Southern India. It is the headquarters of Tirunelveli District. Tirunelveli is about 2000 years old and is a town of old tradition. Tirunelveli is situated on the banks of the river Thamirabarani; it is on the way to Kanniyakumari from Madurai. The town is located roughly 600 kilometers away from Chennai.
The ashram functions under the umbrella of the World Community Service Centre founded by Swamiji Vethathiri Maharishi. The intention of the ashram is to impart yogic practices to the society and to work for the welfare of the society. Southern zone of WCSC office is also functioning in this building.
Swamiji Vethathiri Maharishi laid the foundation on 18/2/1996. The construction of the building gradually processed and the ashram was all set and ready for the march by 22/04/1999. The ashram has dedicated itself totally to the service of the humanity.
The Ashram started its functions in a very small area initially, with the help of the trustees and the service of numerous volunteers. It has expanded and developed its infrastructure on a larger scale. The Ashram has 2 main large auditoriums on the ground floor and on the first floor. Various small auditoriums on the 2nd floor. Common kitchen, dining hall, enough of parking space, dormitories to accommodate about 800 people at a time.
The Thamira Thuriya Sabha is on the 3rd floor.
Thus the Ashram which was sown as a seed, by the nurturing of various service minded people and the Divine Grace of Swamiji Vethathiri Maharishi has gradually grown into a large Vruksha and provides space for everybody for their self harmony and harmony in life.
Right now, it extends it branch in the form of Thamira Thuriya Sabha where it can help each individual to leap to self realization.
